BL Photography - Update!
Hi friends & followers!
I just wanted to post a quick little update for everyone, I have been a little MIA on the blog & facebook lately! I have barely had time to shower in between trying to raise my two little girls all on my own 6 days a week, doing photo sessions on the weekend, and editing, packaging, updating, etc. during the week.
I am honsetly a little stressed out and overworked for what I am making. I LOVE all my amazing clients and love that you want me to be your photographer, but I think its time for me to make some changes, I cant keep going this way.
I have disappointed many a customer customer. I have taken on WAY more than I can handle. It's a problem I have. Sometimes I Just want to make everyone happy....to the detriment of my own family. This can no longer happen.
I didn't launch BL Photography to become a bad Mom, but that's the direction I am headed. Buisness has CONSUMED me over the past 6 months. I am so thankful that the demand for my photos far exceeds what I can handle, but My girls are my life and I cannot keep putting business before the well-being of my gorgeous babies.
I love to make people happy, but there is a breaking point, When your daughter says she is SO EXCITED for the one day that daddy comes home because he will play with her because I dont anymore (I wanted to cry). I have neglected my Mom duties in favor of my photographer obligations. That is no longer acceptable to me or my family.
In order to balance my life a bit more, I am making MUCH needed changes.
I have already raised my prices a bit and lowered the amount of editing, there will always be exceptions, but I feel I am more confindent in what I am doing and should be charging accordingly.
I will only be doing a limited amount of sessions per week, there will be no more squeezing you in last minute. Book in advance.
and Last I will only do what I am passionate about. (people- seniors, babies,family,weddings,couples) If you want me to photograph a sporting event - I will probably refer you elsewhere.
Okay that was a bit long, but I just wanted everyone to know why the prices are going up and the scheduling spots are going down! :) Thanks so much to all of my lovely clients & I hope I dont loose to many of you!

I think you are making the right choice..and I don't think anyone would have a problem with you up-ing your prices..you are good at what you do as a mom and photographer. Family always comes first and I think you are doing great!

I agree 100%, family comes first, period. It takes a lot to see that sometimes (I too am guilty of the same thing, and have had my child say that same thing to me, tear :( Kudos to you for being able to get out there and say what you need to say! Besides all that, once you allow yourself to regroup and get caught up on your family and your business, it will allow you to get back to LOVING photography, rather than stressing about each clients photos, and time frames, and all that stuff.
You do great work, and I would pay the higher prices. =)

No worries Brindi :) You are doing a great job and makeing a great choice. Your kids are number 1 :) We really love your work and will continue to have you as our photographer as needed :) Looking forward to many more sessions with you :)

awesome brindi :) finally you can take a breath and spend time with your beautiful girls..and as for the prices finally u raise them.. u were charging far too little for what you give back..lol and people will understand...and most people who use you as their photographer are people who understand life comes first..and people should only need pics once or twice a year anyways LOL im sure u know who i am LOL so no need to write my name
Aw :) Thank you all for your support!! I Really apreciate it! Im still going to keep everything going I just really need to learn not to book 12+ sessions in 7 days - and then plan on editing them all in a reasonable time, plus be a mom, a chaufer, a cook, a maid, etc :D what was i thinking!!?
